Today was an early start as we headed out to be Bangwe Youth Centre where we met the Malawian MYLOLs. It was so amazing to meet actual pupils like us and we all hit it off immediately.

We got in pairs to get to know each other before writing profiles about one another and then got into groups as we took part in ice breakers. My partner Sphiwe was so lovely and aspires to be a doctor when she's older. She also has a huge family of around 8 people whereas I only have 3! I

I really admired the determination she has and the hope of becoming a travelling doctor to help others. I really can't wait to see her when we visit her school Naizi CDSS tomorrow!

During our tasks together I learned a traditional dance and also lots of games they play such as phada (which was similar to hop scotch). I also learned more about their views on Malawi and Glasgow and we discussed both our values which were very similar e.g. respectfulness is so important in Malawi and we believe it should be in Scotland too.

Sadly the Malawian MYLOLs had to head back to Naizi CDSS and we said our goodbyes.  Then we had some extra time so we played football and chatted to some of the smaller children in Chichewa (which was quite tough) and then headed back to Grace Bandawe Centre!  And of course, got fab pictures!

Later we went out to celebrate Stevie's birthday, it was lovely and we hope he had the best day!
