We are at our last nursery of our trip already! Which is called “My Journey.”
Time has gone by so fast and we are all having a great time. It is a much smaller centre with less children, however they are as happy and vibrant as ever! We are again being supported by our interpreters Kafelusi and Chimwemwe who do a fantastic job working together and translating our ideas into Chichewa for the children.
This centre has two groups of children according to age. This week, Liz has been with the five year olds - working in partnership with the caregivers to develop numeracy skills in different ways such as skittles, ring games and using tallular resources.
I have been working with the three and four year olds who have been learning about shapes! The children were drawing shapes with chalk & finding shapes in the environment around them. We then had some time outdoors in which the children thoroughly enjoyed climbing and building with the rocks!
Tomorrow, we have planned an active learning experience outdoors. The children will be asked to find the shape cards in various parts of outdoor area, which will be an enjoyable experience for all!
