Manja Primary School - Sports Leadership Day 2.
Great second day at Manja Primary School. The Sports Leaders were excited to get started after a good first day yesterday. We went through basic rugby skills this morning and the leaders learned how to deliver rugby related fun games to younger children.
Standard 4 learners came out first and the class of 100 were split into 5 groups of 20. Each group was led by two Sports Leaders who took them for Cats/Dogs game, Chase the Rugby Ball game and finished off with small sized games of touch rugby.
The leaders did very well with the learners although it was challenging for them organising them into groups.
I was very impressed with the way the leaders interacted with the learners communicating their instructions clearly and effectively.
Classes from standard 6 and standard 7 came out to the pitch later and enjoyed the same games with the leaders.
All in all a very good day and the leaders have adapted very well to leading different groups of children.
I will be sad to leave Manja Primary tomorrow but I look forward to teaching the leaders more games and activities before I leave.
