Our first full day in Malawi...

Today has been a truly beautiful and surreal experience. We woke up to a lovely breakfast at Kabula to set us up for the day. We headed to Stella Maris for morning mass.

I was unsure what to expect from this but it completely blew my expectations out of the water. The sisters invited us to join the girls for Sunday service and it is an experience I will never forget.

The whole service was weaved with the most amazing singing and dancing which meant that we were up trying to join in as much as we could. In all honesty, it felt very emotional for both Amanda and I as we hadn't ever had an experience like this.

The girls and sisters were so welcoming and kind - they made us feel very at home at Stella Maris.

We then enjoyed lunch with the sisters and they shared stories of times gone by of the MLOL group coming to visit. It was an excellent opportunity to chat with them.

Afterwards, we met with our Malawian education colleagues to discuss our programme of work for the week ahead and finalise timings.

The MLOL team then spent time organising our resources and itenary for the day ahead.

It has been a very productive and busy day filled with meeting new people and seeing more of the Malawian culture.

It is now 9pm and I am ready for my bed but today has been such an amazing experience and I look forward to the week ahead :)
