Today was a difficult day at the Ndirande Centre for everyone especially the children as there was no porridge today for their breakfast. The reality of life in Malawi really hit home seeing children crying and falling asleep due to hunger and malnourishment.

After comforting the children it was down to work doing "Introduction time " we learned a new song about the Calandar and days of the week which the children participated enthustically  considering some hadn't had breakfast.

They had their name badges on which helped me identify them  and they smiled when I said their name .

I played games and sang songs which they enjoyed  keeping their minds of the lack of food.

It was a great relief at Nsima time for both the children and myself knowing they were at least getting fed one meal.

Hopefully tomorrow will be a better day!!
