Saturday 8th October
Justin Kamwendo, Bill and I attended the Malawi Scotland Partnership meeting today which took place in Llilongwe, the capital city of Malawi.
The distinguished guest of honour was Dr. Alisdair Alan, the Scottish Minister for Europe and International Development.
Numerous issues were discussed - hunger, poverty, health, climate change, human rights, corruption, the prison system, witchcraft and very importantly education. Alongside the "forest " of challenges, considerable strengths were highlighted.
In particular the special relationship between Scotland and Malawi seems to be as strong as ever.
