A fantastic day a Lipunga primary. We arrived fully prepared with paint, brushes, rollers & Alex, our very tall driver!! The 4 of us got stuck in, attacking every surface with white paint!
The staff were an excellent help with them all wanting to be involved. I wouldn't say painting is in my still set but I made up for it with enthusiasm!! After a quick wash at the boor hole we were able to start organising the books. The heat here meant little drying time was needed.
The learners helped move the books from a small, inaccessible cupboard & we organised them into fiction & non-fiction. This was a dusty, dirty job and involved lots of wet wipes! 2 learners were chosen from Standard 6, 7 and 8 to be trained as librarians.
We were all amazed at the transformation & proud of what was created by us and the school staff. The children were so excited watching us & I feel so privileged to of been part of creating such a fantastic resource for the learners & teachers.
