A busy couple of days in Lipunga Primary. We explored reading skills using a prompt mat for the learners. Then we used games to practise mental maths skills and partner work to complete some very challenging maths questions. We created science corners in all the classes from standard 5 to 8. These will be used to support the development of science skills. Today I worked collaboratively with the teachers in standard 7 and 8 to deliver agriculture and science lessons. The sessions were very interactive with the learners creating questions to investigate and then planning and completing their investigations. It was great fun and one teacher commented on the session- " these strategies make the learners think - we make them lazy by giving them all the information." I think all the professional discussions have begun to change mindsets.

The day was completed with a very exciting football game with michuri primary. My learning continued as the teachers taught me how to cook Malawi style. Msima, delicious scrambles eggs and fried cabbage and tomato. So delicious and such generous hearts sharing with their visitors.
